All 3 Majors Advanced On The Week; New Closing Record for Both The S&P 500 and DJIA

All 3 major indices finished the week higher, with a new record-high close for both the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and the S&P 500 Index. Investors reacted bullishly to encouraging reports on U.S. manufacturing and employment. The price on a barrel of crude oil for future delivery receded from last Friday's closing value, ending the week just above the $65 mark.

1,484,310,050 shares were traded @ The New York Stock Exchange® today.

For the week, the DJIA added 160.83 points (+1.191%), the NASDAQ Composite Index added 56.73 points (+2.218%), and the S&P 500 Index gained 20.61 points (+1.36%).
